15 Fun Job Postings

Wix ad

When you're job hunting, reading the same generic post is boring and makes all companies seem the same. You don't want a job; you want a company to stay with until you retire! Here are 15 great job advertisements from around the internet.

1. Africa Health Placements

Sent to doctors, instructions were to take their stethoscope and press it against the ad. This activated an MP3 set to play so quietly you had to sue the stethoscope to listen to it.

2. Alkemy

The poster features Harvey the bunny (from Harvey) and Wilson the volleyball (from Castaway) with the caption, "We're looking for someone who doesn't exist." They then describe their ideal candidate and finish it with, "So, if you think you're our imaginary person, send us your real CV." "Yours truly, Mr Harvey and Mr Wilson."

3. Berrge Tattoo

Their application was a QR code that had to be carefully filled in with ink in order to work.

4. Bigcommerce

They posted a code for software engineers to figure out. If they got it, it revealed the correct phone number to call and schedule an interview.

5. Bing

Bing hid an ad that would only show under certain circumstance, including using Internet Explorer and having enabled the browser debug setting.

6. dmb.at

Instead of advertising by ordinary means, this company hid their advertising in online font platforms. As you scroll through the list of fonts, their ad shows up! A great way to target graphic designers.

7. flickr

If you view the source code at flickr.com, you'll see they used symbols to create their logo and underneath, "You're reading. We're hiring."

8. Google

Google posted an ad with two codes in it. The first were for those who were almost smart enough to get the real code. The second was the phone number to schedule an interview.

9. IKEA

When IKEA prepared to open a new store, they created a billboard to be driven around, reading "Walk to your new job in: xx Minutes" It would then be filled in depending on where they were.

10. India, Law, & Kenneth Worldwide

The ad: "Papa India Lima Oscar Tango Sierra. Whiskey Alpha November Tango Echo Delta."

11. Jung von Matt

In a lot of platforms, instead of having "put your text here," some will feature a phrase reading, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum." Knowing that many people copy this to use, one recruiter requested code for a recruiting ad be placed in it when copying from the website lipsum.com. Lipsum agreed, and anyone who copied and pasted from the website were surprised with a recruiting ad.

12. KMD

KMD's ad featured a high chair in a business room. "Get a career with room for your private life... we offer a career with room for both your professional ambitions and your family ambitions." Another ad featured an older child in a pram with the caption, "Make time for your kids while they’re still kids."

13. The Mellor Partnership

They created business cards with the most absurd job titles to describe the most boring jobs. On the back, it read "Upgrade your job, not your job title." Job titles includes "Shelf Stuck replenishment Operative,""Public Convenience Cleanliness Specialist," and "Vice President of Processed Beef Flipping and Grilling."

14. Prime Financial Recruiting

Our friends at PFR put out quite the doozy for themselves. Although they are professional when recruiting for their clients, they put a unique spin on their own search for a recruiter. The ad insisted the candidate must have a sense of humor and know where several movie quotes came from -- all Will Ferrell movies. One candidate sent the following response, and she's been working there since. "To the Supreme Decider of My Employment Fate," and insisted she needed the job because she didn't own enough Will Farrell movies.

15. Right Job

Right Job featured a series of ads stating that "in the wrong job, being very good can be very bad." The series included an abstract artist as a police sketcher and a fashion designer ordering uniforms for prison.
