10 More Trucking Songs
Our most shared blogs of all time are the ones with songs for and about truckers. We here at On Time Capital believe in giving you what you want, so here we go with another ten songs about or for truck drivers.
Phantom 309 by Sovine Red - This song is a story about a man who was cold and wet, hitchhiking on the side of the road. A trucker who calls himself Big Joe picks him up and takes him along for a while. We won't spoil the ending, but this is a song to listen to at least once.
Looking at the World Through a Windshield by Del Reeves - The son of a trucker who becomes a trucker himself. This song has a special place in our hearts, since the song is about being in Dallas.
Six Days on the Road is a song about a trucker being excited to finally be on the way home. The only real question is whose version we listen to.
Chicken Lights and Chrome by Jesse Watson. A song about a trucker who loves his truck.
Driving Fool by Aaron Tippin. A couple of drivers meet up and enjoy a meal together. Before getting back into their trucks, one stops to pray for protection, causing the other to reflect on life as a trucker.
Give Me 40 Acres by The Willis Brothers. We can't really describe this song to you. Just listen to it and have a chuckle.
Beth by KISS. A bit of a departure from the sound of the other songs, and arguably not about trucking. This song is a man singing to Beth, a woman who wants him to come home, but he apologizes and says he's on the road with the boys and won't be back tonight. (Secret: we like the gLee version, too)
Drove All Night by Celine Dion. Slightly adult in nature, so preview it before playing it around your kids. She sings about missing the one she loves while being out on the road. The first chance she has, she drives home, even if it takes all night, to come home and be reunited with some *ahem* adult time. (Did you know there's a seven minute version?)
Free Ride by Edgar Winter Group. If you're looking for a more modern rock feel, Audio Adrenaline covered it pretty well.
Truck Drivin' Man by Terry Fell. The title perfectly describes this song, but not in the way you might think.
That concludes this list of songs you've sent us! Have you have any more, feel free to send it our way. You could even write one of your own! Which one is your favorite? You can let us know in the comments below.
